We can’t wait for May 8 to celebrate the light of every home, our mothers.
Every day we celebrate the life they have given us and their own lives that they continue to sacrifice for their families. Mothers, as they said, are our modern-day heroes. They don’t have to wear capes for them to be called superheroes. Their power lies within the impact they have left their children who have grown to be conscientious members of society, thanks to their upbringing.
While there are exceptions to this rule, it can’t be denied the power that mothers have in society. The way they raise their kids is the way they’ll grow up to be as citizens of the country or as members of human civilization.
Mothers teach their babies how to eat and sleep while at later ages, they teach them how to say “sorry,” “thank you,” and “please.” When they grow up, they either hide in their shells or grow closer to their moms. Once adults, they leave the house and try their shot at independent living. Even though they already live alone, they would still call mom 24/7 to ask for advice and tips on how to maintain a clean house. When they get married, one of their hands will cling to their mom as they walk the aisle together to the altar. When they have children, it’s the moms who take care of them when they have to go somewhere as a couple.
With that said, moms are ever-reliable. They are almost always available whenever you need them. In fact, we’ll go so far to say, that since childbirth, not one day passes without moms remembering their children. Imagine having to carry you for nine months, go through labor for five hours and more, and breastfeed within the next 24 to 72 hours.
Once taken home, the mom must take care of the household. The nursery must be prepared and accident-proof for the baby, with the mom making sure the baby is supervised. Eating is also a chore as the baby deciphers his or her liquids and solids. After the baby phase, the toddler era also presents difficulties. The young toddler would want to explore and is generally curious about everything. He or she would play around without minding what will be toppled down or what may be dangerous. The mom is again sent into full alert mode. Once the child goes to school for the very first time, moms and children go through an adjustment phase. When they become teenagers, the mom has to deal with changed attitudes and behavior. Once adults, moms have to help make sound decisions for the household that she doesn’t even belong to.
All these she does without complaint or without asking for anything in return. A mom’s love is indeed unconditional, that she’ll put everyone’s benefit first before hers.

1. Write an impromptu song for your mom.
Let’s say your mom is as musically inclined as you are. Grow a band and play some chords while your mom is around. Let everyone pitch a lyric for the song until it is complete and can be recorded. Moms would surely appreciate that they were part of the process and would forever feel grateful that a song for her was made by none other than one of her daughters.
2. Paint together.

You can prepare patterns and materials the night before so that you can save yourself from the hassle today. During this time, strike a conversation with your mom on how she has been doing. Ask about how she is feeling at the moment and at the same time, offer your own stories too.
3. Bake cookies.
Moms love spending time in the kitchen, especially if their husbands don’t have any cooking talent. They take over the station and bake goodies for everyone to taste. Today, they prepared salted chocolate chip cookies, and it was the best. Follow every measurement and let your mom know if you're having any logistic problems with food.
4. Plant together.
You may buy pots of plants and put them in planters in front of the balcony. I’ve never tried horticulture before, and now it’s a brilliant idea to do so. You may have your very own urban garden by your window where you’ll just pick up your herbs whenever you need them.
5. Shop and dress up
You most likely got your style from your mom. They have the most influence in your life that you emulate even the way they dress. Anyhow, you can dedicate some time to shopping and dressing up.
6. Getting a massage
Since parents are very hardworking, they also hardly get to rest. You can go to the spa and have a massage together. You can book a specialist and make them cover your house. Or you may ask the kids themselves to give you a massage.
